Terms of Service
Last Updated: 17th July 2026
This website is operated by Hikari Press, a trading name of Consult IB Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 10231314). Our registered office is Tagus House, 9 Ocean Way, Southampton SO14 3TJ.
1. Who we are
Throughout this site, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Hikari Press / Consult IB Ltd. These Terms of Service apply to your use of this website and to any purchase you make from us.
By using this website or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully before ordering.
2. Our products
We sell books via this website, fulfilled through print-on-demand (IngramSpark). We take reasonable care to ensure product descriptions, cover images and pricing are accurate, but errors can occur — if we discover a pricing or description error after you’ve ordered, we’ll contact you before proceeding and you may cancel if you wish.
Prices are shown in GBP and include VAT where applicable. Prices may change at any time, but changes won’t affect orders already placed.
3. Placing an order
Orders are placed via our website and paid for through Square, our payment processor. Card details are handled directly by Square and are not stored on our systems.
Once you place an order, we’ll send confirmation by email. This confirms we’ve received your order but does not guarantee acceptance — we reserve the right to decline or cancel an order (for example, if a book is unexpectedly out of stock or unavailable via our print-on-demand supplier), in which case we’ll notify you and refund any payment taken in full.
4. Delivery
We aim to dispatch orders within 3-5 business days. As books are printed on demand, delivery times may vary — estimated timescales will be shown at checkout. We deliver globally.
Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery.
5. Your right to cancel
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your book, without giving a reason.
To cancel, contact us at info@hikaripress.co.uk stating your order number. You must return the item to us in its original condition within 14 days of telling us you wish to cancel, at your own cost unless the item is faulty or misdescribed. Once we receive the returned item, we’ll refund you within 14 days, including standard delivery costs.
This right does not apply to items that have been personalised or made to your specification.
6. Faulty or damaged items
If your book arrives damaged, faulty, or not as described, contact us at info@hikaripress.co.uk with your order number and a photo where possible. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, you’re entitled to a repair, replacement or refund depending on the circumstances. This is in addition to, and unaffected by, your cancellation rights above.
7. Intellectual property
All content on this site — including text, cover images, and design — is owned by or licensed to Hikari Press / Consult IB Ltd, or by the relevant author or illustrator, and is protected by copyright. You may not reproduce, distribute or use this content without our prior written permission.
8. Website use
You agree not to use this website for any unlawful purpose, or in any way that could damage, disable or impair the site or interfere with other users’ access to it.
We may suspend or restrict access to the site at any time, for maintenance or any other reason, without notice.
9. Liability
We provide this website and its content on an “as is” basis and do not guarantee it will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law. Subject to that, our liability to you for losses arising from your use of this site or purchase of our products is limited to the value of your order.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
10. Your personal information
Your personal data is handled in accordance with our privacy policy. By using this site, you consent to that processing.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force is the one published on this page at the time of your order. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK, you may bring proceedings in your local courts.
13. Contact us
Questions about these Terms should be sent to info@hikaripress.co.uk.
