About the Author

Maureen Duffy

Maureen Duffy (1933 - 2026), born in Sussex, was a poet, playwright, novelist and biographer. She published forty books and sixteen plays. She was the President of the Authors Licensing and Copyright Society, and Vice President of the Royal Society of Literature. She was London President of the British Copyright Council, and a
Fellow of King’s College London. She was made a D.Litt. by Loughborough University and the University of Kent for services to literature and equality law. Sadie and the Sea Dogs was her first book for children. Duffy lived and worked in London.
